Camp Douglas - Vernon R. Myhre, age 82, of Camp Douglas, peacefully passed on to his happy hunting ground on December 10, 2022. He was born May 10, 1940, to Chester and Erma (Casper) Myhre. Vernon was proud to be a part of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 139 for 20 years. He was a true outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and being surrounded by the water at the Eagle’s Nest Resort.
He is survived by his children, Sherry Myhre, Shelley Myhre and Justin Clark; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and his first wife, Sandy Kayzar.
He was preceded in death by his former wife, Sue Myhre, and his girlfriend, Janet Anderson.
A Celebration of Vernon’s Life will be held at a later date. The Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah is assisting the family with arrangements.
