TOMAH- James “Jim” W. Taylor, 80, of Tomah, died on Monday, September 2, 2024, at Gundersen Hospital in La Crosse. He was born on June 1,1944 in Bertha, Minnesota to Franklin Ford and Vivian (O’Dell) Taylor. He was a member of the Bertha High School Graduating Class of 1962. He moved to Tomah in 1977. He worked for Van’s Bakery, The Carlton, 7up for 30 years and Kwik Trip for 10 years. He was united in marriage to Lila Karlson in 1963 in Minneapolis. He was united in marriage to Rose Marie Epp. Jim was later united in marriage to the love of his life Teresa Bloor on May 8, 2004, at The United Methodist Church in Tomah.

Jim always had a bright smile and twinkle in his eye. He had a fun side and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He took fishing trips to Canada and hunting trips to South Dakota. Aside from hunting and fishing, he had artistic talent, enjoyed coloring, and collecting coins. Jim had a special love for his dogs, Buddy and Bently. He will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin and Vivian Taylor; son, Ricky Taylor; sisters, Joy Mueller and Edith Allen; his father and mother-in-law; and an infant brother-in-law, David Bloor.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Taylor; children, Mike (Dolly) Taylor of Brandon, South Dakota; Wayne Taylor of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; James “Cricket” Taylor Jr. of New Lisbon, Wisconsin; Connie Pearlman of Woodbury, Minnesota; Christine Whittington of Woodbury, Minnesota; Eric (Stephanie) Taylor of North Branch; Stacy Taylor of Wisconsin Rapids, Joshua Taylor of La Crosse, Wisconsin; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Vicky Bloor.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, Sept 7, 2024, 11:00 A.M., at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St. Tomah. Pastor Claudia DeeDee will officiate. Jim will be buried with his family at the Riverside Cemetery, N14707 Princeton Ave. Withee WI. The Service will be live streamed to view via the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home’s Facebook page.

Relatives and friends are invited to call for a Visitation on Friday from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, and on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
