BANGOR – Anna Mae Antony, 92, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children and grandchildren on October 31, 2026.

Anna Mae was born December 29, 1933, to Arthur and Agnes Leis. On June 30, 1952, she married the love of her life, Aloysius Antony. Together, they spent the next 65 years building a loving partnership that is a cherished memory for their family.

Life on the farm was filled with hard work, love and laughter. Gardening and canning, once a necessity of raising a large family, became a cherished pastime in her later years. When the days of milking cows came to an end, she picked up needle and thread to create many treasured items for her children, grandchildren and great grands.

Faith and family were at the heart of Anna Mae’s life. Whatever her family faced, they could always count on her prayers, offered with love in times of celebration and in moments of need.

Anna Mae is survived by her children, Charles (Rhonda), Rose, Lyle (Jodi), Dean (Renee), LeRoy (Dawn), Leonard, Mary Jo (Gary) Hess, and Peggy (James) Larson; son-in-law, Jerry Warthan; daughter-in-law, Debra; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; siblings, Angeline Leis, Delbert (Ruth) Leis, Emery Leis and sisters-in-law, Linda Leis, Diane Kirkeeng, Amelia Bradley and Joan Antony.

Anna Mae was preceded in death by her husband Al; sons, Bernard, Allen, Phillip and Kenneth; daughter, Bonita Warthan; son-in-law, Michael Morgan; daughters-in-law, Gayle Mason, Diane, and Laura; her parents and siblings, Ernest, Urban, Nyle, Donald and Mark Leis, Jeanette Antony and Maryjean Halderson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am Saturday, November 7th at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Middle Ridge. Rev. Sengole Vethanayagam will celebrate the Mass. A private burial will be held later.

A visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 6, beginning at 4:30 p.m., with the recitation of the rosary, with visitation to follow until 7: 00 p.m., and also from 10 am until the time of Mass on Saturday, all at St Peter’s Catholic Church, Middle Ridge.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Bangor First Responders, or St. Croix Hospice.

To St. Croix Hospice, we would like to thank you for the incredible loving care and support you’ve provided mom and our family over the past nine months. You have truly been a blessing; bringing comfort, compassion and dignity to mom while we navigated this difficult journey.
