Amy Jo Moser-Matteson, age 50, of Tomah, WI, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer at the Mayo Hospital in Rochester, MN. She was born on July 7, 1973, in Tomah, Wisconsin, to Robert and Barbara (Steidl) Moser.

Amy grew up in the community of Tomah, where she graduated from Tomah High School in 1991. Amy’s professional journey was marked by a dedication to excellence and service, as she became the Internal Operations Coordinator for CLA Accounting Firm in Tomah. Her work ethic and ability to connect with people also shone through in her role through various career paths including being a dental assistant.

Family was the cornerstone of Amy’s life. She found her soulmate in Chad Matteson, and together they built a life filled with joy, adventure, and unwavering support for one another. Amy was a devoted mother to her children, Kyle Walensky, Drake (Lauren) Walensky, Megan Matteson, Lexie Matteson, and Lauren Matteson. She was also devoted to being a Mimi to her granddaughter Evelynn Weber.

Amy’s love extended to her brothers, Robbie Moser and August Moser; sisters, Marisa (Joseph) McDaniel , Tessa (Chad) Klipstein, Erin Moser (Ryan), Sun Moser, and Seallena Moser. She also cherished her role as a granddaughter to Marian Steidl, and as a daughter-in-law to Don and Bonnie Matteson and Charlene and Glen Paulson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Barbara Moser; her brother, Matt Moser; her grandfathers, Mathias Steidl and August Moser; and her grandmother, Theresa Moser, Amy’s memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her loved ones.

Amy’s life was a testament to her loving nature, her faith-filled soul, and her courageous spirit. She faced every challenge with grace and optimism, never losing sight of the beauty in each day. Her infectious laughter and warm embrace were a comfort to many, and her ability to find hope in the darkest of times was an inspiration to all.

As we say farewell to Amy, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the indelible mark she has left on our world. Her spirit will forever be a guiding light, reminding us of the power of love, strength, and faith.

A Celebration of Amy’s Life will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at the Bible Evangelical Free Church in Tomah. Pastor Tim Erickson will officiate. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Tomah. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church.
