Hugh “Huey” M. Schaller, 61, of Tomah died on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at his home. He was born on January 24, 1963, to Hilary and Helen (Baldwin) Schaller at Tomah Memorial Hospital. After graduating from Tomah Senior High School, Huey joined the Army and was honorably discharged. He went on to earn a mechanical degree from Western Technical College, then worked at Universal Forrest Products for many years and most recently with USEMCO for the last 15 plus years.

Huey was known to many as a jack of all trades who did not mind getting his hands dirty. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, throwing horseshoes; and of course earning pitcher of the week multiple times, sailing on Castle Rock Lake with friends, and throwing darts for the dart league. Most of all, Huey loved being a Dad and Grandpa. He helped his son while racing, and cherished the time spent with his grandchildren. Huey loved Coors Lite and was a friend to all.

Huey is survived by his son Joshua Schaller; daughter Ashley Schaller; grandchildren Gabriel, Austin, Landin, Carter and Nellie Wickersheim; Mother Helen Schaller; brother Heath (Patsy) Schaller all of Tomah; sisters Helene (Scott) Stein of Warrens, Heidi (Jason) Mellem of Bangor, Heather (Boyce) Wilcox of Tomah, Henrietta Schaller of Eau Claire; and sister-in-law Lori Schaller of Tomah. He is further survived by uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his Grandparents Sam and Agnes Baldwin, Anthony and Margaret Schaller; Father Hilary Schaller and brothers Hans Schaller and Howard Schaller.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., at The Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St., Tomah. Please dress casual and come as you are.
