TOMAH - Amanda L. Schmidt, 38, of Tomah, died Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at the Aspirus Riverview Hospital. She was born July 27, 1983, to Kary and Sharon (Mitchell) Schmidt. 

   From a young age Amanda was told she wasn’t going to make it, due to health issues, but she had the Schmidt Stubbornness and refused to give up. She graduated from the Tomah Senior High School in 2002. After graduation she went to work at the Handishop Industries in Tomah. 

   Amanda absolutely loved to be a part of the Handishop, this is where she would go to see her friends. She was an artist who made beadwork, her favorite colors were purple and pink, Eeyore was her favorite, she enjoyed watching Rosie O’Donnell and the Rosanne Show. 

   Her favorite place was being outdoor in nature, especially amongst flowers. She had a love for pets, especially cats, dogs, and her Guinea pigs. Amanda had a contagious laugh and was always happy.  She will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her.

   She is survived by her father Kary, her brothers and sisters, Kary Schmidt Jr, Christopher Schmidt, April Jensen, Kari Schmidt, 3 nephews, Kirik Brunk, Timothy Schmidt, Brock Jensen,  a niece Kylie Parlow, a paternal grandfather, Alfred Schmidt, a maternal step-grandfather Allen Turben, her aunts and uncles, sue, Jennifer, Rita, Michelle, Tim, Brian, Scott, Sandra, Donald, Ronald, Daniel, James, Gerald, and Pam, many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

   She was preceded in death by her mother Sharon “Sherry”, her maternal grandmother Sandra, and an Uncle Ronnie.

   A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 11, 11:00 A.M. at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St.  Pastor Ronald Tobin will officiate.  Burial will be in the Plainfield Cemetery.
