SPARTA/CATARACT - Michael D. Abbott, 65, of Sparta, died Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Hospice Touch-Serenity House, Tomah. He was born on March 9, 1958 in Wisconsin Rapids to Dwight and Leora (Wilcox) Abbott. He grew up in Cataract and graduated from Sparta High School.
Mike worked at Loren’s Auto Service for over 30 years. He then worked at Northern Engraving in Sparta for six years, retiring in October of 2022 because of health reasons. He enjoyed hunting.
Mike is survived by his siblings, Tom (Loreen (Schuster)) Abbott of Sparta, Brenda (Randy) Cole of Cataract, Delite (Matt) Lind of Cashton; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dwight and Leora.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home, Sparta, with Lyndon Heim officiating. Burial will be in Cataract Cemetery.
Family and friends are invited for visitation from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
