   Tomah - Dale R. Clay, 76, of Tomah, died Thursday, July 20, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born January 28, 1947, to Francis and Beverly (Poeschae) Clay on the family farm in Warrens. He attended the Waterpull County School and was a member of the Tomah Senior High School Graduating Class of 1965. He was united in marriage to Laura Robertson on December 2, 1967. They moved around for a while before settling on their forever home in the Town of LaGrange in 1979. Dale was the owner and operator of Dales White Weigh Towing Service, as an electrician for Nelson’s, and he drove Semi-Truck. He started at the Band Box on August 26, 1991, and worked there for 24 years until his retirement in 2015. He was a member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Tomah. A past member of the Town of LaGrange, volunteer fire department, and in his later years he belonged to the Road Runners, an ATV group. Dale loved being around his family and friends. He enjoyed playing Euchre, Dirty Clubs, and Piffer. Dale was an outdoorsman and deer hunter. He hunted with his brother Denny for many years. Dale was a devoted husband and loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will always be remembered for watching westerns in his garage, his kind heart; he was always willing to do anything for anyone. He will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved him.

   He is survived by his wife of Laura, of 55 years, his children Georgeanne Clay, Chad (Cindy) Clay both of Tomah, and Melanie (Jim) Briggs of Black River Falls, 6 grandchildren, Bob Murray and Mallory Murray both of Tomah, Cody (Abbey) Clay and Carly Clay both of Tomah, Jenna (significant other Kyle Larsen) of Chicago, and Jordyn Briggs of Black River Falls, 3 great-grandchildren, Alaina, Hudson and Vivian Clay, 3 brothers Darrell Clay of Michigan, Dennis (Judy) Clay of Camp Douglas, and David (Joann) Clay of Michigan, his mother-in-law Margaret Robertson of Tomah, many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law on the Robertson side of the family, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

   He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Diana, a brother-in-law Larry, sister-in-law Mary, and father-in-law Alva Robertson.

   A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 4, 2023, 4:00 P.M. at the Grassman-Larson-Sowle-Senz American Legion Post #201, 800 Wisconsin Ave. Tomah. Pastor William Rice will officiate. Immediately following the service there will be a reception and visitation from 4:30 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. that all are invited to attend.
