West Central Model Railroad Club hosting summer open house

Posted

The West Central Model Railroad Club of Sparta is having their annual summer open house on Saturday, June 14. There will be trains running from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., with a mixture of passenger and freight trains being pulled by both steam and diesel locomotives. The HO scale layout has over 1,000 feet of track, with city and mountainous scenes, including many tunnels, bridges and trestles. Multiple trains will be running at the same time to resemble a real working railroad. The open house is held to give visitors a chance to see our large operating model railroad layout. Club members will be on hand to answer questions about the club or membership opportunities.
The club is located at 805 Clifton Street, right next to the railroad tracks, in Sparta. Follow the signs from near Rudy’s Drive-In on Wisconsin St. (Hwy 16) and South Water Street. There is no charge to attend, but donations for building and layout maintenance are greatly appreciated.
For further information call 608 343-1922 or 715 271-6963 or visit the West Central Model Railroad Club Facebook page.
