1980s CHRISTMAS EXHIBIT AT HISTORY ROOM IN SPARTA It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas – of the 1980s – at the Monroe County Local History Room and Museum in Sparta.  Starting Monday, November 25th at 6:30pm, visitors can time travel to the not-so-distant past by viewing the History Room’s special holiday display, “Back to the 1980s Christmas.”    The museum display, “Back to the 1980s Christmas,” runs from November 25th through January 11th.  Special opening reception from 6:30-8 on Monday, November 25th. leon livewires 4-h is hosting a christmas bake sale. December 7, 2024 at the Leon Town Hall, from 8am - 12pm. Half the proceeds will be donated to SACS.

The Big Creek Church will hold an old-fashioned candlelight Christmas service on Sunday December 8th, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. The Sparta Midwest Choir will sing carols and hymns. The service will be conducted by Pastor Randy Larson. Join us for an evening of fellowship. Snacks and cookies available after the service.

Tomah American Legion Post 201 Legion and Auxiliary meeting every 2nd Thursday of every month. Doors OPEN at 6:00pm, meetings start at 7:00pm.

The Tri-County Chapter #1386 of NARFE (National Association of Retired Federal Employees) meets monthly (March thru November) the 3rd Thursday of the month at Perkins Restaurant, 1015 E. McCoy Blvd. (Hwy. 21), Tomah, WI.  Lunch is available at 11:30 AM – order off the menu.  The meeting starts at approximately 11:45AM.   All members, their guests, and interested retired federal employees are welcome.

Sparta Group #1 (AA) has meetings Monday through Fridays at NOON.  There are also meetings seven days a week at 7 p.m. and Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m.  The meetings are held at the Masonic Valley Lodge on the corner of Montgomery and South Court streets.  Use the side entrance. SECOND HARVEST MOBILE FOOD PANTRY is in Sparta the third Monday of each month at 2:30p.m. at the winter (Nov. through April)  location at 1121 E. Montgomery St., the Sparta Hockey rink;  the first Tuesday of each month at 4:00p.m. at the Tomah Fairgrounds (1625 Butts Ave.); and the fourth Tuesday of each month at 9:00a.m. at the Norwalk Village Hall for curbside pickup.
