The Tomah Area School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephanie Hove as the new Head Coach of the Varsity Dance Team.
Stephanie Hove currently serves as a 7th grade math teacher at Tomah Middle School and brings a strong background in both education and dance instruction to her new leadership role. In addition to her classroom experience, Hove has several years of experience teaching multiple styles of dance through a local studio, where she worked with dancers of varying ages and skill levels to develop technique, confidence, performance quality, and teamwork.
Hove also brings valuable coaching experience at the middle school level, where she focused on building team culture, mentoring student-athletes, and supporting student growth both on and off the floor. District leaders noted that her combined experience in the classroom, studio environment, and coaching roles positions her well to lead a positive and disciplined varsity program centered on growth, school pride, and student success.
“It’s incredibly exciting to have the opportunity to lead these dancers at the high school level,” Hove said. “Having worked with many of them during middle school, I’ve had the chance to watch them grow not only as dancers, but also as leaders and teammates. Being reunited with them now feels really special because there’s already a foundation of trust, work ethic, and shared passion that we can continue building on.”
Looking ahead, Hove said her vision for the program is to develop a team that is competitive, positive, and unified. She emphasized that she wants the Varsity Dance Team to be known not only for strong performances, but also for character, energy, sportsmanship, and school pride.
“We aim to bring fresh ideas, new choreography, and exciting performance opportunities while still honoring the traditions and values that have helped shape the program over the years,” she said.
A key focus for Hove will be strengthening team culture and ensuring that all student-athletes feel supported and valued. She highlighted the importance of confidence, accountability, and teamwork, noting that practices will be both challenging and encouraging, with an emphasis on growth and connection among team members.
“We will work hard in practice, but we will also make sure we are building strong relationships, celebrating growth, and creating an environment where every dancer feels valued and motivated to succeed,” she said.
Under Hove’s leadership, the Varsity Dance Team is expected to continue building on its tradition of strong performances while bringing renewed energy and creativity to the program.
The Tomah Area School District welcomes Coach Hove to her new role and looks forward to an exciting season ahead for the Varsity Dance Team.
