The American Legion

The American Legion puts flags on all Veteran gravestones before Memorial Day. After Labor Day those flags are retrieved. The American Legion is assisted in this effort by Pack 85, who happily provide this community service and show their pride in America. Last Wednesday, September 25th, Pack 85 picked up and gathered all the flags from Woodlawn cemetery, located at 875 North Water Street, in Sparta. Flags will be properly retired on November 11th, Veteran’s Day. David Schimdt is the pack leader.
