If you need a traditional holiday turkey with all the fixing this year, Sparta, Tomah, or Warrens may have you covered at their Community Thanksgivings this 2024 season.

Sparta and Tomah’s Community Thanksgiving Dinners will both be held on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28th, 2024.

Sparta’s event will be a sit down special at the American Legion, 1116 Angelo Road, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Everyone is welcome, and free rides are available through Sparta Cab, at (608) 269-2222. Free donations will be accepted and benefit Sparta Ecumenical Ministerial Association’s work in the community.

Tomah’s event, known as Mr. Ed’s Community Thanksgiving Dinner, is in honor of Ed Thompson, who started the free community meal in 1993. The meal will be held from 11 a.m. until the food is gone. Pies can be donated and dropped off at the location of the meal, which is Murray’s on Main, 810 Superior Avenue Tomah. Any questions or willing volunteers can reach out to Tina Thompson, at (608) 343-4956. Donations can be mailed to 119 Alyssa Street Tomah.

Warrens Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held a day early, on Wednesday, November 27th, 2024. The event will be in the evening, from 4 pm. To 6 p.m., at the Community Building, 601 Pine Street Warrens. The event is sponsored by the Patel family, owners of The Berry Vine, 1800 Jellystone Park Drive Warrens, and The Warrens Mall, 201 Main Street.

Whether at home, a family or friend’s place, or at one of the community gatherings, have a happy Thanksgiving from everyone at the Herald.
