Terese Marie Larson, “Tess,” 63 of La Crosse, WI, passed away unexpectedly at her home Thursday, June 5, 2025.  She was born in La Crosse, WI, on August 10, 1961, to Donald and Rose (Gautsch) Wenger.

Tess never turned down a chance to play softball and she was invited to participate in a tournament and during this event, she met the coach, Dale Larson. This beautiful journey led to Tess marrying Dale Larson in 1995.  Tess had two beautiful children, Stephanie and Austin.  She adored being their mom and looked forward to events with them.

She was always full of energy and loved playing softball and volleyball. Whenever the family gathered, Tess was the one who would rally everyone together for a game of cards or a lively board game. Her enthusiasm and competitive spirit brought so much joy and fun to our family gatherings. Tess also enjoyed her time volunteering at Good Steward in La Crosse, WI.  All of these moments are truly cherished and will always be remembered with a smile.

Tess is survived by her husband Dale; daughter Stephanie (special friend Jason) Schwertel; and son Austin (special friend Trinity) Larson; sisters, Elizabeth (Bill) Keller, Wendy (Dale) Nelson, Beckie (Jeff) Schulz, and Amanda (Eric) Odegaard; brother, Kris (Jennie) Wenger; brothers-in-law, Duane, Steven, and Greg Larson; along with many nieces nephews and friends.

Tess was preceded in death by four infant children, Kacie, Alexander, Joshua, and Brandon; parents, Donald Wenger and Rose Miller; brother Jack Wenger; in-laws, Harley and Helen Larson; sisters-in-law, Susan and Maureen Larson; and niece, Amy Brown.

Her family is planning a private graveside service at North Coon Prairie Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life for Tess on Saturday, July 12, 2025, 12:00 Noon- 2:00 p.m. at the Portland Lutheran Church basement,  7526 State Highway 33, Cashton, WI 54619.
