Susan “Sue” M. Storkel of Warrens passed away, Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the Serenity House, Tomah. She was born March 26, 1942, in Milwaukee, to Harold and Bernice (Eberhardt) McCutchan. She grew up in Milwaukee and was a member of the West Milwaukee High School Graduating Class of 1960. She was united in marriage to Roy Storkel on August 12, 1961, at Ascension Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on November 3, 2011. They moved back to the Wyeville area in 1964, before moving to their forever home in Warrens. Sue waitressed at the Holiday Lodge Restaurant. Later she started working at the Tomah Hospital as a Nursing Aid; she worked herself thru the ranks, she retired in 2007 as part of the Raspatory Therapy Team. After her retirement she worked for Cutler Cranberry during the harvest season. Sue enjoyed spending her time bowling, playing golf and volunteering at the food pantry. Her faith was very important to her. Sue was a faithful and active member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church; she was a member of the ladies aid, the Gloria Dei quilting group, and the book club. Sue loved her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchild.
She is survived by Rick of Warrens, Victoria (Gregg) Hart of Camp Douglas, Michele Robinson of Florida, Ryan (Christine) of Tomah, and Renae (Jim) Hannes of Wausau, 10 Grandchildren, Jenna Gnewikow, Keven Stender, Derek (Nicolle) Hart, Hunter (Courtney) Hart, Abigail (Luke) Schroeder, Cole (fiancé Amaya O’Hearn) Hannes, Derek (Haleigh) Storkel, Courtney (Aaron) Smith, Samantha (Kade Weber) Storkel, and Jessica (Damian) Chambers, 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, 2 brothers Jon (Vicki) McCutchan of Mukwonago, and Tom (Vicki) McCutchan of Texas, many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, 11:00 A.M. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 310 W Elizabeth St. Pastor Dave Dahl will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
