The Sparta area school district board had a special workshop Wednesday evening for Cataract Elementary School. After that was a special meeting at 8:00pm.

The meeting went into closed session to discuss and possibly act on property. Also, on the agenda was discussion and possible action of an individual’s employment.

Then the Sparta School Board was to return to open session to make a decision or announce a decision made in executive session.

The Herald reached out to board members Thursday morning. John Hendricks said, “the announcement didn’t happen because there was no information available.”

James Rasmussen, said “the investigation is still in process, so we didn’t have the information to make an announcement.”

Regarding the property, it was discussed to possibly purchase land behind Meadowview Middle School to expand the campus, but was ultimately declined in the meeting, according to Rasmussen.
