HILLSBORO - Robert L. “Bob” Spradley, 79, of Hillsboro, Wisconsin, died Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Gundersen St. Joseph’s Hospital.

   He was born April 11, 1944 to James and Maxine (Griffin) in Wisconsin Rapids. Robert graduated from Nekoosa High School. In 1964 Robert was united in marriage to Elsie ‘Peggy’ Corton. They later divorced. Robert bravely served in Vietnam as an electrician for the Navy aboard the USS Josephus Daniels (DLG 27) from 1964 - 1967.  He then opened and operated Bob’s TV Repair Service in Warrens until 1983.  Robert then enlisted in the Army National Guard where he continued his career in electrical communications at Ft. McCoy and other surrounding bases until his retirement in 2000 with a rank of E-6.  Robert proudly served his country for 20 years altogether.

   Robert was a private person but never knew a stranger. He was an independent and proud man who asked for very little. He often shared his great sense of humor and will be missed by all who knew him.

   He is survived by a daughter, Ruth (Terry) Brux of Tomah, 2 sons, James (Allison) Spradley of Baldwin and John (Sandy) Spradley of Little Canada, MN, six grandchildren, 3 brothers, Fred J. (Patty) Silver, Mark (Mary) Silver both of Warrens and Dennis (Janine) Silver of Kendall.

   He was preceded in death by his parents.

   Private services will be held at burial March 23, 2024, 2:00 PM. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Mather with military honors by the Grassmann-Sowle-Larsen-Senze American Legion Post #201.
