Robert “Bob” Dean Olson, age 83, of rural Cashton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at his home.

Bob was born on October 25, 1942, to Chris and Grace Olson and was raised on the family farm in rural Ontario. He attended Brookwood High School and was proud to be a member of the first graduating class of the newly built school.

On January 13, 1968, Bob married the love of his life, Sandra Mlsna, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cashton. Five years after being married, Bob and Sandy moved to their hobby farm where they spent 20 wonderful years together raising their three sons. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work, sharing nearly six decades together.

Bob dedicated more than 39 years of service to Dairyland Power. He began his career clearing brush and later advanced to a Heavy Equipment Operator while building electrical substations. He took great pride in his work and the contributions he made throughout his career.

Bob had a real passion for automobiles. His pride and joy was his Road Runner and his many Hot Rods over the years. This is where he truly earned his nickname “Crash”.

In retirement, Bob found his greatest joy in spending time with Sandy, their children, and grandchildren at their country home. He loved being in the outdoors, spending time with his family and friends hunting and fishing. He cherished the simple pleasures of life and could often be found driving through the countryside on his UTV, admiring the beauty of nature and watching for deer and other wildlife.

Bob is survived by his wife, Sandy; sons, Ron Olson, Mike (Susan) Olson, Jeff (Lori) Olson; grandkids, Nicole Olson, Benjamin and Carter Olson, Wyatt, Austin and Cameron Olson; Sister, Sharon Nevin; sister-in-law, Nancy Olson; along with many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Grace (Lord) Olson; brother, Palmer Olson and brother-in-law, Leo Nevin.

A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Cashton.
