Richard (Dick) G. Jensen, of Clarksville, Maryland, passed away on September 16, 2024, at Charter Senior Living, Columbia, Maryland from advanced dementia. Dick was born on January 12, 1951 in Sparta, Wisconsin, the son of Gerald and Genevieve (Samz) Jensen and grew up in Tomah, Wisconsin. He married Linda M. Havlik on July 8, 1972.

Dick graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Science (BSN) from Viterbo College in May 1974 as an Army Student Nurse. After graduation Dick was commissioned as a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army. While on active duty in the Army he became certified as an Adult and Geriatric Nurse Practitioner. Dick practiced as a Nurse Practitioner in the Army until he pursued his Masters degree in Nursing and subsequently a PHD in Nursing Administration graduating in 1989. The Army allowed Dick and Linda a chance to see the world and he cherished his time in Germany and travels in Europe. Dick loved his dog, Ginger, who traveled to Europe with him and he called her his circus dog whom he taught many tricks. Dick served twenty-two years as a member of the Army Nurse Corps and retired at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in August 1994. Upon retirement he worked as a Nurse Practitioner in the civilian community. His illness forced him to retire from Nursing.

Dick was a member of St. Louis Parish, Clarksville, Maryland and active in the Knights of Columbus. He was an eagle scout, avid coin collector and always a student of any subject.

Dick Jensen is survived by his wife, Linda Havlik Jensen; brother, Eric Jensen (Candy);

sister, Connie Summerfield (Jim); niece, Megan Jensen (John Dingman); nephew, Clint Jensen (Martha Gavinski); and great niece; Madelyn Dingman. He is also survived by many loving relatives on the Havlik side of the family.

Services will be held at St. Williams Catholic Church, Janesville, Wisconsin with Interment at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Janesville, Wisconsin.
