The Tomah boys' soccer team (7-2-3) were given their second loss on the season Tuesday, October 5 by Onalaska (13-2-2). The score of the match was 3-1.
The Hilltoppers were able to come out strong, scoring all three of their goals in the first 11 minutes of the match.
“After that, we just weren’t able to establish any real rhythm,” said Tomah head coach Scott Conzemius.
In the second half of the game, the Timberwolves were able to score a goal in the 79th minute on a penalty kick.
The Timberwolves still have one regular-season game to play against Baraboo Thursday, October 7. Then they move into the MVC tournament, where they will take on Holmen.
“With this loss, we’ll look to improve on our play and prepare for playing our best in the state tournament,” Conzemius said.
This game comes on the heels of two 0-0 ties last week — the first to La Crosse Central on Tuesday and the second to Wisconsin Rapids last Thursday.
