Myron “Mike” H. Likely, 81 of Tomah passed away on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Serenity House, Tomah. He was born on February 15, 1945, to Harry and Gertrude (Dams) Likely at home. Mike was a proud member of the Tomah High School Graduating Class of 1963, carrying with him lifelong friendships and a deep connection to the Tomah community. In 1973, he married Mary Ellen Merchant at the Tomah Baptist Church, beginning a partnership rooted in love, faith, and shared devotion to family.

For most of his life, Mike was a dedicated farmer — a role that reflected his work ethic, resilience, and appreciation for the land. Later, he spent 17 years driving for ACE Cab Company, a job through which he formed countless friendships. Many of those bonds were with veterans he transported, supported, and listened to. His kindness, reliability, and compassion did not go unnoticed; Mike was honored by the VA for the care and respect he consistently showed to those he served.

Anyone fortunate enough to know Mike could tell you he was a natural jokester and prankster — the kind of person who brought laughter into every room. Among family, he proudly held the title of “Favorite Uncle,” a testament to his humor, warmth, and the special way he connected with others.

Mike’s life was defined by service, friendship, and joy. His legacy lives on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the kindness he offered so freely.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen of Tomah; special niece, Brenda (John) Repaal; special nephews, Bill and Chad Thompson and special great nephews, Jeffrey and Josh Repaal; siblings, Robert (Rita) of Plover, Mary (Ralph) Wendland, Barbara (Fred) Callaway, and Loretta “Betty” (Dennis) Durec, sister-in-law, Vaness Likely; along with additional nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings and their spouses, John (Alice), Thomas (Barbara), and David; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don and Mary Merchant.

A Private Family Service will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, 11:00 AM at Tomah Baptist Church, with visitation starting at 9:30 AM.  Pastor Aaron Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
