Michelle M. Edgerton, age 54, of Warrens, Wisconsin, passed away Saturday May 17, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born August 10, 1970, to Dennis and Joyce (Williams) Gillette in Tomah, Wisconsin.

Michelle spent her life deeply rooted in the community she cherished, leaving behind a legacy of love, joy, and resilience. She was a 1988 graduate of Tomah High School. After school, she became a working mom, starting at USEMCO and later at the phone company before stepping away to help her mom manage The Warrens Mall after her father’s passing in 1998. In 2001, Michelle found love and companionship when she married Scott Edgerton at Open Door Church in Warrens. In 2003, they purchased the family cranberry marsh, Gillette Cranberry, which her father had established, showcasing her dedication to her family’s legacy. Her entrepreneurial spirit continued to flourish when they purchased The Warrens Mall in 2005 and The Berry Vine convenience store in 2010.

Her family will forever remember her as a loving wife, an attentive mom, and a doting grandma who filled their lives with laughter and warmth. Michelle had a special way of bringing people together with her infectious positivity and energy. She loved attending her children’s sports games and events, always cheering them on from the sidelines. Her love extended beyond her immediate family; she cherished her time spent with her Jellystone family and her many friends, creating lasting bonds that enriched her life and the lives of those around her.

Michelle was someone who always put her family’s needs and care above her own. After being diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in 2018 her first concern was how her family was coping with the news. Even in her final days Michelle just wanted to make sure her husband, kids and grandkids would be ok.

Her kind heart and infectious laugh will be profoundly missed, yet her spirit will forever resonate in the many lives she touched. Michelle lived her life with passion, determination, and an unyielding love for her family, friends and community.

She is survived by her husband, Scott, her children, Dylan Burkhalter, Tayler (Kenan) Shaw, and Ellie Edgerton, her grandchildren, Oliver, Stella, and Brodie Burkhalter, her brother, Brian Gillette, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerry and Ginger Edgerton, a brother-in-law, Bryan (Joellyn) Edgerton, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Joyce, her son, Kyle, maternal grandparents Ray and Vera Williams, paternal grandparents Warren and Ruth Gillette, cousins Teresa Williams and Becky Arttus.

Michelle’s family would like to extend a special thank you to her two Gundersen providers, Dr. Leah Dietrich and Eileen Williams PA-C who have been with mom since her diagnosis in 2018 along with their nurse Kathy. The Tomah Health Infusion Department and Gundersen Infusion Department where she was treated like family. And lastly her amazing friends who accompanied her to appts over the years, especially Lori Larsen.
