Louise Conti, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025, at the age of 90.  Louise was born on May 24, 1934, in Viroqua, Wisconsin, the fourth of seven children of Edith and Raymond Mossholder. She grew up on a farm in Bush Prairie near Sparta, Wisconsin and attended the one-room schoolhouse nearby.  She was the homecoming queen of Sparta High School Class of 1952.  After graduation, Louise moved to Omaha to train as an airline ticket agent, forming lifelong friendships and memories.  Deciding that career wasn’t for her, Louise relocated to San Leandro, CA in October 1952 and began working as a secretary at Monadnock Company.  She married Vincent "Jim" Conti, the love of her life, on September 25, 1954. They shared 57 wonderful years together in Hayward, CA, raising a family and building a life full of love, laughter, and travel.  After raising her family, Louise worked for many years at Physics International in San Leandro before retiring in 1991. She and Jim cherished their retirement years, taking many trips across the U.S. and abroad, particularly enjoying several Princess Cruises.  They wintered in their RV many times in Mesa, Arizona enjoying the season with family and friends.

Louise is survived by her daughters Lisa Johnson of Hayward and Rita Sinclair of Vernon Hills, IL along with four grandchildren, Danielle Bachler and Lindsay (Luis) Gomez of Hayward, James Sinclair of Ft. Lauderdale, and Jacob (Alejandra) Sinclair of Panama City, Panama and four great grandchildren, Ava, Giovanni, Leia and Luca.  She is also survived by her sister Sally June of Sparta, WI, sister-in-law Martha Mossholder of Alameda, and many nieces, nephews and extended family.  She was preceded in death by her husband Jim, her parents, and her siblings Doris Chatten, Betty Jones, Joann Harlos, Nancy Boan, and Bill Mossholder.

A devoted member of St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Hayward, Louise served as a Eucharistic Minister and was an active member in the St. Vincent de Paul Society where she enjoyed supporting the food pantry.  She spent over 50 years as a proud member of the Busy Bees Sewing Club.  A loyal Oakland A’s fan, Louise held season tickets for many years with Jim and later with her good friend, Barbara.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren, supporting their many events, and taking yearly trips to Illinois and Wisconsin to spend time with family.  Louise enjoyed going to movies, lunches, and playing bunco with friends.  Her warmth, kindness, and sense of humor made everyone feel welcome. She will be dearly remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, GiGi, sister, aunt and friend.

Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday May 28th at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Hayward.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Vincent de Paul Society c/o St. Joachim’s Church, 21250 Hesperian Blvd., Hayward, CA 94541.
