SPARTA- With heavy hearts, the family of Linda L. Nevin, announce that she died suddenly and unexpectedly, at her home on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. She was born on October 24, 1942, in La Crosse, WI to Raymond and Lila Von Ruden.
Linda met her soulmate, Claude, at “Danceland” in Cashton. After a short stay in Milwaukee with her friends she returned home and began working at Northern Engraving. Claude and Linda were joined in marriage on September 1, 1962, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at Pine Hollow, Cashton. The two of them have been inseparable for 62 years.
Creative was her middle name. She started her own business, “Nevin Upholstery,” out of her home to channel that creativity. Over the years you could find her unleashing her true passion in watercolor artistry. She shared the fruits of this special talent with many. Linda also enjoyed gardening, reading, spending time at their cabin, having lunch with her lady friends, and enjoying a good glass of wine. Family will cherish the memories of donuts and coffee after Sunday Mass.
Linda was the heart of the home and devoted her life to her family. She raised three wonderful children, Mark (Cheryl) Nevin, Eric (Heather Endres) Nevin, and Lori (Dan) Meyer. She was a proud grandmother to Erica, Nikki, Erin, Josh, Miranda, John, Collin, Bryant, and Karlie; and a great grandmother to 15. She will be remembered for her comforting recipes, unique musical renditions, and her lingering perfume which always left you feeling oh so loved. All who met her knew that she was “over the moon” proud of her entire family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Lila VonRuden; mother and father-in-law, Irma and John Nevin; two infant siblings; a brother, Jerry VonRuden; sister-in-law, Sandy VonRuden; and brother-in-law, Leo Nevin.
Linda is also survived by her devoted husband Claude; five brothers, Jack, Gene (Jackie), Dan (Connie), Tom (Sally), Al (Roxie) VonRuden; and one sister Judy Mashak; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
