Larry Leroy Leland, 74, of Westby, WI, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Norseland Nursing Home in Westby, WI.
He was born on February 23, 1951, to John and Olga (Hanson) Leland at the Viroqua Hospital. Larry graduated from Brookwood High School in 1970. During and after high school, he was his father’s right-hand man on the farm and was always ready to lend a hand wherever needed. In the summers, Larry worked just up the road at Brush Creek Campground, where he maintained the grounds. He truly enjoyed his time at the campground. He worked as a janitor for many years at Brush Creek Lutheran Church. This was his lifelong church and a place he took great pride in.
Larry is survived by two sisters, Linda Hagen and Beverly Leland both of Westby; Linda’s children Patty Hagen, John (Kathy) Hagen and his children Brett, Haley, and Tyler and Robert (Katie) Hagen and daughter Hannah; aunts Betty Bolton, Mary Ellen Hanson and Eunice Hanson; along with cousins, other relatives and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents John and Olga; his sister, Judy Leland; grandparents Otto and Nellie Hanson; and Simon and Minnie Leland; brother-in-law Michael Hagen; aunts and uncles: Leona (Lawrence) Berg, Bonnie, August “Auggie”, Orbin, and Otto (Bernice) Hanson Jr., Ona (Perle) Berge, Olaf, George, Melvin, Martin, Malinda and baby Gabrielle Leland, Elizabeth (Norman) Short, and Ona (Berlie) Witham.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 28, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at Brush Creek Lutheran Church, rural Ontario, WI. Pastor Amanda Schultz will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family and friends are invited for visitation Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
