SPARTA - Kenneth Duane Warner, 71, of Sparta, WI, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, August 23, 2022. Ken was born July 24, 1951, to Spencer and Lillian (Kuehl) Warner in Sparta, WI. He grew up in rural Sparta, attended Big Creek Grade School, and was a member of the Sparta High School class of 1970.
August 10, 1974, Ken married the feisty light of his life, Candace Peterson. They were married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sparta. Ken was employed at Northern Engraving for 43 years before retiring in 2013. He was a kind, quiet, loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Ken enjoyed watching the Brewers, Packers, Badgers and NASCAR. He was a homebody and loved the simple things in life like hunting and fishing. He found great peace spending time mowing at the cabin and at home and hunting moles with Rusty.
Ken is survived by his wife of 48 years, Candace; son Dustin Warner of Leon, WI; daughter, Ashley (Ben) Berendes and children, Madisynn, Kennedi, Landen, Jack and Mya; sisters Judy (Bill) Dicke of Florida, and Pat Solchenberger of Sparta, WI; brother, Steve Warner; sister-in-law, Kandis Warner of Appleton, WI; along with many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Spencer and Lillian; brothers, Ron (Mary) Warner, and Spencer Warner; and brother-in-law Allen Solchenberger.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 26, 2022, 1:00 P.M. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sparta, WI. Pastor Jim Scaife will officiate. Family and friends are invited for visitation Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church. Everyone is encouraged to wear Badger, Brewer or Packer attire.
