SPARTA/CATARACT - Joyce A. Burch, 89, of Sparta, died Monday, March 11, 2024, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse. She was born in La Crosse on February 11, 1935, to John and Eva (Service) Pretasky.
She grew up in La Crosse and graduated from Logan High School. Joyce married Donald Burch and later divorced. She worked at K-Mart in La Crosse for over 35 years. She moved back to Sparta in the early 2000’s to be closer to family. She was a resident at the Morrow Home in Sparta for the last two years.
Joyce is survived by her children, Debra Gleason of La Crosse, Cindy (Scott) Thomas of Cataract, and Brian (Jasmine) Burch of La Crosse; grandchildren, Tasha (Bob) Trautman of La Crosse, Kayla (Chuck Jr.) Thomas of La Crosse, Robbie Thomas of Sparta, Kenny (Darcy) Crocker of Rockland, Jason (Nichole) Crocker of French Island, Shawn Crocker of La Crosse, and Jordan Schoenfeld of La Crosse; 8 great grandchildren, and many other relative and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jerry Pretasky; sister, Carol Montana; son-in-law, Mike Gleason.
