GIRLS BASKETBALL: Falcons unite for opening win against La Farge

The Brookwood Falcons dominated La Farge en route to a 66-17 win in the team’s season-opener on Tuesday, Nov. 18.

Brookwood allowed less than 10 points in the first half, as they led 40-8 at halftime. They outscored La Farge 26-9 in the second half.

The game was the debut for La Farge’s Tom Howard as head coach. Howard, who previously spent time as the Wildcats boys coach in the past, replaces longtime leader Phil Benson.

Ruby Muehlenkamp led the team with 16 points - all scored in the opening half.

Stella Mack buried a pair of three-pointers in the first half and went on to finish with 14 total points. Kaja Wolf- Hauschild scored 11 points. In all, nine different players scored for the Falcons.

Brookwood made six three-pointers in the win, Mack and Muehlenkamp tied for a team-high with two each.

CASHTON 49 SENECA 35

The Cashton Eagles started the season with a win, as they defeated Seneca 49-35 on Tuesday, Nov. 18 under coach Ryan Brown in his third debut with the team.

Cashton led 23-15 at halftime, and outscored the hosting Royals 26-20 in the second half.

Kate Wall led the Eagles with 13 points, Kennedy Brown added 12, and Audrey Weber added seven points. Cashton made five three-pointers in the win, Wall made a team-high three, Weber and Brown both made one each.
