Gary R. Cox, 78, of Wilton, passed away at home on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.
He was born June 11, 1946, to Harold and Gladys (Wallace) Cox, the seventh of ten children. Gary grew up in the Wilton area. On June 26, 1965, he was united in marriage to Nadine Stellner. Gary and Nadine had three children.
Having grown up on his parent’s farm, Gary loved the outdoors and wasn’t afraid of hard work. He ran his own dairy farm while also doing custom farm work for neighbors, He had a career change later in life and went to work running heavy equipment.
Gary enjoyed hunting, shooting, and riding UTVs with his sons. His grandchildren were always eager for a tractor ride with Grandpa. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents; wife Nadine; daughter Sheila; sister Joanne (Harold) Meyer; brothers, Harold (Edith) Cox Jr, Jim Cox, and Wade Cox.
He is survived by his sons Craig (Brenda) Cox and Mike (Susan) Cox; grandchildren Craig (Ashley) Cox Jr, Sarah Cox, Karah (John) Cox-Oosting, Tom (Tricha) Cox, Steven Cox, Nicole Cox; twelve great- grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild; special friend, Dorothy Wilson; and siblings Alice Leis- Murray, Robert (Marlene) Cox, Linda (Ronnie) Shisler, Royce (Cathy) Cox, and John Cox.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 14, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at Torkelson Funeral Home, 2224 Superior Ave., Tomah, WI 54660. Pastor Bob Streeter will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited for visitation from 9:00 a.m. to the time of service. Please join us for a luncheon after the service.
