Eugene “Buck” Pierce, age 79, of Tomah, Wisconsin, passed away Monday, August 10, 2026. He was born on June 8, 1947, to Loren Sr. and Bertha (Schroeder) Pierce.
He was united in marriage to Mary Johnson October 26, 1968. Together they spent years raising their children and following their grandchildren in their various endeavors. They recently have enjoyed adding great grandchildren to their family. Buck loved his family more than anything.
Buck was spirited in the truest sense of the word, adventurous in the way he approached both work and life. He spent many years farming and later went to work at Toro. He was also associated with the Grand National Tractor Pull and the Monroe County Fairgrounds, where he organized the famous “Buck’s crew.” He took pride in being part of something that brought people together, and he enjoyed the energy and camaraderie that came with it.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Pierce, his children, Lori (Jeff) Larsen, Tammy Pierce, Mark (Sarah) Pierce and Todd (Kerry) Pierce, grandchildren, Logan (Matt) Hampel, Abbey (Chase Sather) Larsen, Megan (Drake) Lindberg, Jordyn (Tyler) Rose, Braeden and Payton Pierce, Landon and Delaney Pierce, great grandchildren, Grant Eugene Hampel, Ella Lindberg, Scottlyn and Noa Rose, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Loren Sr. and Bertha, brothers, Loren (Susan and Sonja) Pierce Jr., Ronald “Whitie” Pierce, Duaine “Black” (Grace) Pierce, Charles “Jesse” Pierce, Norman “Woody” (Lorraine) Pierce, sister, Arliss (Kjell) Oliversen, and sister-in-law, Mary Etta Pierce, along with many other relatives.
A Celebration of Buck’s Life will be held Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Murray’s on Main, 810 Superior Ave, Tomah, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Buck’s memory and will be gifted to some of his favorite charities. The Torkelson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
