Eric Wilsey Voter (61) passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on October 15, 2025, on the Greek Island of Paros. Eric was having the time of his life with his beloved wife, Nicole, and their four life-long friends.

Eric was born on February 26, 1964, in Sparta, WI to Lonny and Barbara Voter. Eric met his wife Nicole (Miller) while pitching a softball tournament in Lafarge, WI on July 4, 1988.  It was love at first sight. Nicole and Eric celebrated 35 years of marriage on September 29, 2025.

Eric deeply valued his 35 years as an emergency physician.  Eric shared with his sons the fulfillment of his work, influencing his boys to take on the challenge of becoming physicians.  The last few years, as he chose to continue in his profession, he experienced his greatest joy of practicing side by side with his son Mitchell and discussing radiology with his son Jay.

Eric was always with a smile and perpetually happy. His selflessness, faith, compassion, and generosity made his presence a treasure to all. He was a rock for his whole family; he always went the extra mile to make every event memorable for friends and family alike.  The pictures and selfies were endless.

Eric was the loving father of Mitchell (Taylor) and Jay (Brittany) and a brand-new grandparent to Lainey Danielle. He was excited to take on his title of “Poppa” with Lainey and his second grandbaby coming December 2025.

Eric is survived by his parents-in-law; Thomas and Jill Miller, sisters-in-law, Danielle (Erich) Rathke, Michelle (Steve) Marciniec, brother-in-law, Aaron (Katie) Miller, sister Melissa (Dave Sheskey), brother, Jeff Voter, special uncle, Parviz Sohaei, and six nieces and nephews.

We will miss him with all our hearts but know that he is in Paradise with the loved ones that have gone before him. Exodus 23:30, “See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.”

Memorial service will be on Monday, October 27th at Riverside Ballroom, La Crosse Center, at 5:00 pm. The family will be available to visit prior to the service, 4:00 – 5:00 pm, and after the service, 6:00 – 7:00 pm. Come as you are; we encourage honoring Eric with Packers, Brewers, or patriotic attire.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to North American Squirrel Association, Alliance Family Services, or Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse Voter Family Baseball Fund.

Eric’s family would like to extend their gratitude to Greg Saliaris for his assistance with navigating the systems and language barriers in Greece. He was a God send. Please go to Christos Taverna and raise a glass to Eric.
