Elda “2D” A. Hubert, age 95, of Tomah, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at the Serenity House in Tomah surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 27, 1929, to John and Ella (Gebhardt) Bartels.
She was united in marriage to Bernard Hubert on November 27, 1948, at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tomah.
Together Bernard and Elda enjoyed years of selling vegetables from the roadside stand outside their home on Hwy 16. They also sold seed corn to the local farmers and supplied night crawlers and angle worms to 5 area bait shops, as well as running a fox trap line together. She was an avid euchre player, and especially enjoyed crocheting blankets for her grandchildren, jigsaw puzzles, and word finds; as well as being the chief camp cook at her family’s 9 day deer camp.
She is survived by her children, Stephen (Deanna) Hubert of Albany, WI, Christine (Eugene Wilde) Hubert of Wilton, WI, Luann Hubert of Tomah, WI, Cindy (Dwayne) Eppers of Tomah, WI and Brian (Teresa) Hubert of Tomah, WI, grandchildren, Cory (Kari) Lenz, Colter (fiancée, Britenie) Eppers, Tiffawny (Dean) Travis, Danielle (Chris) Thousand, Annette (Chad) Trimble, Britnie (Brad) Rewey, Andrea (Lee) Peterson, Travis (Tabitha) Koranda, Tanner (Kelly) Hubert and Ethan (Chelsea) Hubert, step-granddaughter, Trisha (Brett) Wright, great grandchildren, Cody (Krystal) Lenz and Joseph (fiancée, Izzy) Lenz, Maizee Eppers, Taylee, Tatum and Ty Thousand, London and Lincoln Trimble, Brin and Boe Rewey, Kendall and Gabrielle Peterson, Trinity Koranda, Brooke, Adalynn, Cora, and Danica Hubert, Hayden Hubert, Indigo, Rebel, and Killian Travis; great-step granddaughter, Valencia Wright; great-great grandsons, Kohen Lenz and Waylon Lenz; her sister, Donna Rupp; brother, Garland (Lois) Bartels; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard; parents, John and Ella; sisters, Linette (Ken) Hatfield, Sharon Bourbeau, infant sister, Cheryl Sue; half-sister, Arlene Jensen; and brother-in-law, Charles Rupp.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 11, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at Queen of the Apostles Parish in Tomah. Father Ethan Hokamp will officiate. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Tomah, WI. Family and friends are invited for visitation Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 3:30 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Family and friends are also invited for visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. The Torkelson Funeral Home of Tomah is assisting the family with arrangements.
