Born on March 13th, 1930, in Warrens, WI, Polly lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to her family. On August 16th, 1947, she was united in marriage to Raymond Brey, of whom she was able to share in 64 wonderful years of marriage. Together they had five sons: Steve (Nancy), Michael (Sandra), Thomas (Susan), Jeffrey (Nadine), Daniel (Louann); and a cherished grandmother to 14 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Her family was her greatest pride, and she loved each of them dearly, always keeping her home filled with warmth and comfort. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond and son, Jeffrey.
Polly was a woman of many talents. She was known for her passion for baking, delighting everyone around her with delicious treats that were made with a special touch only a grandmother could master. Whether it was cookies (a cookie jar that was always full), cakes, or pies, her kitchen was always the heart of the home, where stories were shared, and memories were made.
In addition to baking, Polly had a creative soul and loved to spend her time doing crafts. Whether it was crocheting, quilting, woodcarving, or creating something beautiful with her hands, she found joy in every project she undertook. Her family treasures the handmade gifts she gave them over the years, each one infused with her love and care.
Perhaps what kept her most content in her later years was working on the next puzzle. It was a ritual she never grew tired of — the challenge and the satisfaction of completing each one. Her tenacity and determination were reflected in every puzzle she conquered.
A woman of unwavering strength, love, and devotion, Polly leaves behind a legacy of family, faith, and kindness. She will be deeply missed by her sons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her. Her spirit will live on in the memories she leaves behind, the traditions she created, and the love she so freely gave.
A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, December 2nd, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Burial will be held in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Mather. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home on Monday. Together, we will gather to honor her memory and share stories of the remarkable woman she was.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, a cause that was close to her heart.
