Wayne came as a package deal and Doris became the mom of four additional children. Doris treated Linda, Wade, Jackie, and Keith as if they were her own. She loved, nurtured them, and started many traditions that they still practice today.

In 1977, Wayne and Doris made the decision to move to Warrens, Wisconsin with their sons Keith and Chris. They lived on the farm where Doris spent much of her childhood. Upon moving to Warrens, Doris began working at Fort McCoy as supervisor in the accounting department and would continue work there until she retired.

Doris will be remembered for innate love of animals. She was often seen bottle feeding lambs, putting calves in the basement or in her kitchen during the winter and treating her cats if they were her best friend. Doris enjoyed gardening, canning and freezing her fresh vegetables and fruit. She had a heart of gold and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many.

Doris will be laid to rest on August 13, 2022, 11:30 am at the Cataract Cemetery in Cataract, WI. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Chasing Daylight Animal Shelter, Tomah, WI.
