It is with heavy hearts the family of Donald Joseph Leivermann (Chanhassen, MN) announces his death on May 3rd, 2026, at the age of 85.
Born in Chaska, MN on August 25, 1940, to Gertrude and Albert Leivermann. The family moved to Tomah, WI in 1954. He served in the National Guard, attended St. Mary’s College in Winona, MN and graduate school at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA where he received a Master’s in Health Care Administration and his graduate thesis was published in the American Hospital Association Journal. Thus began the perfect career choice for him. Eventually, he became a Fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives after having several articles published. He was devoted to meeting the needs of those within the hospital halls.
He loved sports both as a participant and spectator and claimed he still had four more years of eligibility well into his eighties. He enjoyed teaching his grandchildren how to play tennis and golf along with cribbage and swing dancing in the kitchen. He loved fishing, social events, his family and God.
He is survived by Judy, his loving wife of 60 years, daughter Amy, son-in-law Michael (Criswell) and his adored grandchildren Curtis and Dinah. Preceded in death by son Brad, parents and sisters Kay and Mary.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Don’s memory may be made to Totino Grace High School (Fridley, MN) or Tunnels to Towers.
