TOMAH- Dennis P. Felber, age 68, of Tomah, Wisconsin passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at the Greenfield House. Born on February 22, 1956, to Paul and Aldean (Butterfuss) Felber, Dennis’s life was marked by his dedication to his family, his work, and his passions. Dennis was a 1974 Tomah High School graduate. In 1981, he was united in marriage to Jackie Worthington where they shared countless memories and endless laughs together.

For 27 years, Dennis was the heart of the local grocery store in Tomah, which he owned and operated, becoming a well-known figure in the community. He later dedicated 17 years of service as a corrections officer, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

An avid hunter, Dennis raised and cherished his hunting hounds, finding joy in nurturing the puppies and sharing his love for the outdoors with his family. His grandchildren were the center of his universe, and he enjoyed every moment spent with them.

Dennis was known for his humor, love, and kindness, touching the lives of many. His warm spirit and the laughter he brought to any room will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Dennis’s legacy is survived by his loving wife, Jackie, his daughters, Abigail (Stephen) Felber-Smith of St. Paul, MN, and Amy (Josh) Krenz of La Crosse. He was a proud grandfather to Mackenzie McPeters, Alex McPeters, Malia Felber-Smith, Noelle Felber-Smith, Braeden Felber, Jaxson Krenz, and Ariana Krenz. His brother, Kevin (Cindy) Felber, son-in-law, Jason McPeters, brothers-in-law, Rick (Brenda) Worthington, Randy (Debbie) Worthington, and sister-in-law, Donna, also survive him.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Mandy Johnson-McPeters, his brother, Larry Felber, father-in-law, John Worthington, mother-in-law, Betty Worthington, and sister-in-law, Faye Sherwood.

A Celebration of Life for Dennis will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Shane Haynes will officiate. A private family burial will be held at the Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family where they will distribute to special organizations meaningful to Dennis.
