The City of Tomah has received notice of resignation from its City Treasurer, Justin Derhammer. Treasurer Derhammer’s resignation is the result of him accepting a new position with another entity.
“The City of Tomah leadership and staff wish Justin continued success,” explained Mayor Paul Dwyer.
On June 16, 2026, City Administrator Nicholas Morales also submitted his formal resignation to Mayor Dwyer and members of the City Council. Administrator Morales resigned from his position as of June 18, 2026, due to health reasons.
“I am deeply grateful to the Mayor and City Council for the opportunity to serve the residents of Tomah,” Morales wrote. “Although my service with the city has come to an end, I remain confident that Tomah’s future is bright.”
“City leadership and staff have the highest respect for what Administrator Morales has contributed to the Tomah Community in his tenure here,” Mayor Dwyer said. “We wish him a quick and robust recovery.”
Although these are two significant staff positions, and both will leave a challenging period of transition, the City of Tomah has already engaged interim staffing solutions and is working with professional recruitment firms to refill these positions.
Anyone wishing to inquire about this professional recruitment should contact City of Tomah Human Resources at (608) 374-7429.
