Cassie Marie (Adamietz) Heser, age 39, of Sparta, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, June 22, 2026, surrounded by her family, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. She was born on November 3, 1986, to Donald and Debra Adamietz.
Cassie spent her childhood in Appleton, Wisconsin, where she attended school from kindergarten through high school. She graduated from Appleton East High School in 2005, where she was active in softball and track and field. She went on to attend the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, earning her Bachelor’s Degree. During her college years, she discovered a passion for running, volunteering, and helping others. Cassie completed countless half marathons, but her favorite running experience was participating in Ragnar relay races, which combined the teamwork, endurance, grit, and determination she valued so deeply. She also dedicated time to volunteering with New Horizons, and Habitat for Humanity, including a memorable trip to Texas to help build homes for families in need.
Cassie’s love for animals began early in life while working at an animal hospital in Appleton. That love grew into a lifelong devotion to her pets and all animals. She also worked at the Hampton Inn during her college years, serving both as a housekeeper and at the front desk, always bringing her characteristic kindness and work ethic to every role.
Cassie met David Heser in 2010, and the two were united in marriage on May 28, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Appleton. Together they built a life rooted in faith, love, and family. After living in Tomah and La Crosse, they eventually made their home in Sparta, Wisconsin. Their greatest joy came with the birth of their son, Henry, in 2021. Cassie embraced motherhood with tenderness, patience, and unwavering devotion, and her family remained the center of her world throughout her life.
Professionally, Cassie most recently served as a Project Manager at Altra Federal Credit Union, where she was respected for her leadership, dedication, and ability to bring people together. She was known as someone who could always be counted on and brought both competence and compassion to every responsibility she accepted.
On May 28, 2024, Cassie was diagnosed with Stage IV intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma that had metastasized to her liver, hips, and spine. Given an initial prognosis of only six months, Cassie faced her diagnosis with extraordinary courage, grace, and determination. She fought fiercely for two years, determined to make every day count. Throughout her journey, she was supported by an incredible network of family and friends whose love sustained her through countless challenges.
Despite the hardships of her illness, Cassie remained focused on creating memories with those she loved most. She found joy in Harry Potter, camping, hiking, foraging, crafting, jewelry making, traveling, and spending time outdoors. During the last two years of her life, she fulfilled many lifelong dreams, including traveling out west to Wyoming, returning to Savannah, visiting Ocean City, taking Henry to Disney World, exploring countless zoos, and creating cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those who shared them with her.
Cassie’s Christian faith was an important part of her life and guided the way she loved others and faced adversity. Her trust in God, humility, and servant’s heart were evident in both her daily life and throughout her cancer journey.
She is survived by her loving husband of ten years, David Heser, and their son, Henry; her parents, Donald and Debra Adamietz; her brother, Brian (Stephanie) Adamietz; and her sister, April Adamietz. She is further survived by her father-in-law, Herb (Ann) Heser; her mother-in-law, Dawn (Larry) Handschy; her brother-in-law, Dan (Alyssa) Heser; her sister-in-law, Emma (Josh) Huber; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and colleagues. Cassie was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister, daughter-in-law, and friend whose warmth, kindness, and strength touched countless lives.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Arthur and Rosetta Galloway; her paternal grandparents, Maurice and Florence Adamietz; and her cousin, Wayne Galloway.
