Last year, in an effort to accommodate the global pandemic, Fall Fest was reduced to a drive thru chicken-q and a drive-by parade. This year however, the festivities will resume with most of the traditional events along with some new ones.

The 74th Annual Cashton Fall Festival is scheduled to take place on September 10-12. The festivities will kick off on Friday, Sept. 10 with an old-fashioned tractor ride at 10:30 a.m., which will leave from Trescher’s Farm; lineup begins at 10 a.m.

The antique tractor pull will begin at 7 p.m. and Eagle Ridge Karaoke by Eddie Schreier will take place from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. Friday night.

The action starts back up bright and early on Saturday, Sept. 11 with a pancake breakfast at the fire station from 7 to 11 a.m.

Registration for the Cashton Library 5K Fun Run/Walk will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the library and the race starts at 8:30 a.m. Cashton Fitness Center will have an open house and membership drive from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the high school.

The Cashton FFA Farm Toy Show & Antique Tractor Show will be held at the high school gym from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and the arts and crafts show will be held at the community hall from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Cashton Community Club’s 1st annual Fall Fest Ride will take place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Participants can register at Cashton Village Park and take a ride in anything street legal.

The stops include Brenda’s Bar & Grill in Melvina, Leon Country Tavern, Ridge Top Gathering Place in Cashton, St. Mary’s Distillery in Cashton, Big Johnson’s Doghouse in Cashton and Peck’s Corner in Cashton.

The ride ends at Village Park in time for participants to enjoy Saturday evening’s events. The cost is $15 per person or $20 per couple and includes a Fall Fest button and a chance to win cash prizes.

In the park, a kids’ pedal tractor pull will be held for kids under the age of 11 at the tennis court at 2 p.m. and the donkey races will be held at 4 p.m.

The Bethel Village chili fundraiser will be held from 4 to 7 p.m.

The Pat Watters Band will perform from 4 to 7 p.m., followed by High Mileage from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. The live music will be held at the park fest grounds at the large shelter; buttons will be required to enter the beer garden and sound stage area.

Individuals can get buttons at local retailers in Cashton in advance for $2 or at the festival for $3.

Saturday evening will end with a bang at 9 p.m. when the fireworks begin.

On Sunday, Sept. 12, the arts and crafts show will continue from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Charcoal chicken will be served at the Cashton Park starting at 11 a.m. followed by the Gigantic Parade at 12:30 p.m.

Spectrum Carnival is scheduled to be at Fall Fest as well. Individuals can purchase wristbands for four-hour time slots of their choice for $25 or unlimited rides for the entire weekend for $60; the wristbands are good on Friday from 6 to 10 p.m., Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 10 p.m. and on Sunday from 12 to 4 p.m.

The annual Fall Fest Kick-Off is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 8 at the Bank of Cashton from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Music and food will be provided.

This year’s Fall Fest theme is centered around the 20th anniversary of the 9-11 attacks. Fest goers will have the opportunity to see several patriotic displays in honor of the tragic event, which shook the nation 20 years ago.
