BRADLEY “BRAD” G. HANSEN

February 1966 – May 2022

Posted

A beloved son of Edwin (deceased) and Eleanor Hansen (Sparta, WI), Brad grew up in Pennsylvania and lived in Glenwood, Iowa.  Brad studied at the G.I.A. in Carlsbad, CA where he earned his credentials as a certified gemologist.  He worked in retail at fine jewelry counters, specializing in pearls and diamonds. For the past 15 years, he was a trusted and faithful cashier at Walmart in Council Bluffs, IA, providing friendly and knowledgeable service.

His siblings and their spouses, Andrea Hansen and Curtis Miller (Sparta, WI), Gloria and Stephen Hague (Baltimore, MD), and Gregory and Betsy Hansen (Jonesboro, AR) find it difficult to imagine life without their “little brother.”  Brad was a proud uncle and uncle-in-law to Chloe and Mack Hansen-Dunn (Menasha, WI), Sara Hansen and Conner Choi (Denver, CO), Julian and Elena Hague, Marcus Hague, and Lucas Hague (all of Baltimore, MD).  He was a great-uncle to Oliver Hague.

His family and friends will miss Brad’s extended visits to Sparta each Christmas and summer. Brad cherished his family, loved his parents wholeheartedly, enjoyed stories and jokes, practiced kindness and cultivated a deep acceptance of self and others. His mother Eleanor dearly misses his 7:00 p.m. phone calls.

A memorial service is planned for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 16th at Trinity Lutheran Church, 612 North Water Street, Sparta, WI.  Visitation is at 10:00 a.m. and lunch will follow.

Memorials to the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (www.lirs) and NAMI-Iowa at www.namiiowa.org are suggested. Envelopes will be provided at the memorial service.
