SUSAN ROWAN HOLME

   Susan Rowan Holme was born into eternal life on July 19th, 2022. Susan was born Susan Kay Rowan to Anna and Victor Rowan in Sparta WI in May 14th1955. Susan graduated from Sparta Highschool in 1973. In her early years Susan enjoyed playing in the marching band, singing in the church choir, and helping on the family farm. She was also active in a theater club while attending college in Madison for business. She married Ronald Holme in 1984 and spent many happy years in Middleton, WI where they raised their four children Cora, Sara, Timothy, and Andrew. Susan was a jack of all trades and excelled in all fields of employment, she enjoyed working at Veterinary clinics and even ran her own floral and wedding planning company.

   Susan and Ron moved up to Tomah in 2014 and Susan became active in the Tomah Historical Society and served a term on the City Council. She started a ferret rescue that she operated out of her home and helped in the rescue and care of numerous animals. Running her rescue was a true passion of hers, she truly believed that all lives mattered and were worth love and care.

   She so deeply enjoyed holidays and decorating her home beautifully for any and all occasions. Susan had a special ability to make you feel welcomed and at home the moment you stepped into her house.  Susan was a beloved mother, wife and so much more. Her kindness and generosity was unmeasured. What defined her was her strength, tenacity and ability to love without hesitation or question. She gave every piece of her to help those around her, fuzzy or not. Susan loved spending time with her family and pets, as they were her world. She will be deeply missed.

   Susan is survived by her husband of 38 years Ronald Holme, four children, Cora, Sara (Daniel), Timothy (Katie), and Andrew and three grandchildren Daniela, Liliana and Timothy. Also, many beloved family members, Joyce and Art Henry, Ken and Miriam McIntyre, Herb and Margaret Rowan, James and Louella DeVoe, Duane Selbrede and many nieces and nephews.

   She was proceeded in death by Lucille Rowan, Howard and Nancy Rowan, Jeanette Selbrede, Jeff, David and Dennis Henry.

   A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, 2:00 P.M. at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St. Tomah.  Pastor Claudia Deede will officiate.  Burial will be at a later date.

   Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 12 Noon until the time of the service at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home.  Online condolences may be sent to www.sonnenburgfamilyfh.com.
