Sparta Fall Fest scheduled for this weekend

The Sparta Area Chamber of Commerce is once again hosting its annual Autumn celebration, Sparta Fall Fest, on Saturday, October 9 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a ton of guaranteed fun events planned for all ages.

The festivities will start at 8 a.m. in Mueller’s Square downtown at Sparta Farmers Market for the final market of the season; the market is scheduled to close at 12 p.m. 

Street graffiti artists will be lining the streets with masterpieces for the annual street graffiti contest, which is scheduled to take place from 8 to 10 a.m.; attendees can vote for their favorite. Registration for the contest is now open at https://form.jotform.com/spartaevents/StreetGraffiti2021.

The art and craft street fair, which will feature food trucks, will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in downtown Sparta. 

Families can enjoy pumpkin decorating from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Sparta Floral, located at 636 E Montgomery Street in Sparta. 

There will be a morning family photo session from 10 to 11 a.m. in downtown Sparta followed by afternoon sessions from 1 to 2 p.m.

 Attendees won’t want to miss the chili challenge and beer tasting from 1:30 to 3 p.m. hosted by the Sparta Area Young Professionals in Mueller Square.

Throughout the day, Fall Fest attendees are invited to meander the scarecrow displays built by area businesses as well as window displays and vote for their favorite display. Attendees can also stop by a caramel apple booth all day long and pick their own toppings. 

Later, walk through a vintage tractor show and marvel at the technology advancements over time and/or partake in a pumpkin scavenger hunt. Don’t forget to visit the pumpkin patch at Market Bar, located at 109 E Main Street. 

Kids in attendance can enter the first annual tractor pull, come to participate, or cheer on this fun and friendly competition.

Attendees can stop by the axe throwing trailer from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to try their hand at throwing axes. Wagon rides will take place at the same time. 

Fall Fest comes complete with live music by Tugg from 12 to 2:30 p.m. From La Crosse, Tugg  is a band known for its alternative reggae music, channeling tropical grooves and breezy melodies.
