   TOMAH - Ronald A. Andrus, 82 of Tomah passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Liberty Village, Tomah. 

   He was born on December 12, 1939, to Arthur and Anna (Merrow) Andrus in Sparta.  He was a member of the Sparta High School Graduating Class of 1957. 

   On May 21, 1977, Ron was united in marriage to Karol A. Davenport.  She preceded him in death on March 13, 2018.  Earlier in life, Ronald drove milk truck, from 1963 to 1973.  He eventually was a security guard at the Toro Company construction site and later was hired as their very first employee in 1975.  He remained at Toro for over 29 years retiring in 2005 as a machinist.  He volunteered his time for several years, on the Sheriff’s Reserves and worked as a Tomah Police Dispatcher. 

   While residing at Liberty Village, Ronald enjoyed playing bingo, playing puzzles and talking with the other residents.  Ronald was a hardworking dedicated man with a pleasant and good-hearted nature. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be dearly missed.

   Ronald is survived by his children, Brad (Petrela) of Tomah, Doug of La Crosse, Cindy (Dave) Stark of Westmont, IL, and Robert (Donna) of Tomah, 4 grandchildren, Darin (Jerusha), Linsey (Eric) Oberlin, Katherine and Aidan Andrus, great grandchildren, William, Rhett, Roman and Mara.  His brothers, Burton (Rita) Andrus of La Crosse and Francis (Millie) of Nebraska, brothers-in-law, James and Carl Davenport both of Sparta.  He is further survived by other relatives and friends. 

   He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Karol, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Judy and Don Merow. 

   A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022, 12:00 Noon at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St.  Pastor Krysta Deede will officiate.  Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sparta. 

   Relatives and friends are invited for a time of visitation on Friday at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
