TOMAH - Raymond M. DeVoe, age 80, of Tomah, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully holding hands with his beloved wife on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at the Serenity House in Tomah.  He was born August 11, 1941, to Minert and Pauline (Dutton) DeVoe in Sparta, Wisconsin. 

   Ray was a Tomah High School graduate.  He was extremely proud of his 25 years of service to his country, having served in both the U.S. Army, and U.S. Air Force.  Being a Vietnam Veteran was a title Ray wore with honor and pride.  He was a faithful member of the Bible Evangelical Free Church.

   Ray was united in marriage to Sharon Johnson on September 1, 1972, in Watertown, South Dakota.  He enjoyed tending to his garden, watching birds, and old westerns.  Ray was constantly learning and delving into something new.

   Ray was a loving husband, wonderful father, and supportive grandfather.  He enjoyed watching his grandkids in their adventures, from power lifting to swim meets and volleyball matches.  A quiet soul and kind heart, he will be missed by all his family and friends.

   He is survived by his wife, Sharon; his children, Robert (Cheryl) Abelmann of Fargo, North Dakota, Lori (Brian) Dyer of Ashwaubenon, and Susan (Keith) Ganther of New Lisbon; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; his siblings, James (Luella) DeVoe of Tomah, Donald (Louise) DeVoe of Tomah, and Elaine (James) Kanable of Mound City, SD; and his sister-in-law, Kathy DeVoe of Wilton.

   He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Walter DeVoe and his sister, Margie DeVoe.

   Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021, 11:00 a.m., at the Bible Evangelical Free Church in Tomah.  Pastor Tim Erickson will officiate. Burial with full military honors will be held at the Mount Vernon Cemetery. 

   Family and friends are invited for visitation on Friday, December 17, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah.  Visitation will also be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
