NORMAN L. KUDERER

   Norman L. Kuderer was born June 8, 1933 in the township of Wilton, Wisconsin to Carl and Gertrude (Prell) Kuderer. He graduated from Wilton High School in 1951.

   On June 15, 1953, he married Shirley I. Shippee at St. Mary’s Rectory, La Crosse, WI. After marriage they lived and worked on the family farm in Wilton. In 1958 Norman moved his family to Wilton. Norman worked for the Wilton Creamery making butter, Norman also worked for the Village of Wilton as the Public Works Person, Village Marshall, Village Justice of the Peace, Village Ambulance service and served on the Wilton Volunteer Fire Department. In his spare time he still helped on the family farm, was a member of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Reserve, taught the DNR Youth Hunters Safety course and he loved to hunt. In 1966 Norman got a new job doing security work for the Wisconsin Job Core at Fort McCoy. In 1968 Norman took a job with the Wisconsin State Patrol and moved his family to Sparta, WI. Norman patrolled the new Interstate system from Tomah to LaCrosse and later in his career worked as a State Vehicle Inspector at the Truck Scale on I-90. Norman retired in 1993 after 25 years of service to the Wisconsin State Patrol. During retirement Norman and Shirley spent a lot of time volunteering at St. Patricks’ Catholic Church. If there was an event going on at the church, they were there volunteering their time. Norman would be there setting up, working at the event and then helping to tear down and clean up.

   Norman died Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at Rolling Hills, Sparta, at the age of 89 years, 4 months, and 11 days. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters-in-law Debra Kuderer and Dianna Kuderer; grand-daughter, Danna Kuderer; brothers Elton Kuderer and Verlyn Kuderer; sister, Joyce Northcott; and brother-in law, Glenn Northcott.

   He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Sparta; 5 children, David (Charlotte) of Sparta, Steven of Sparta, Kevin (Madonna) of Tomah, Denise (David) Rhodaback of Sachse, Texas and Loren (Lisa) of Hartford, WI; 14 Grandchildren: Charles Kuderer of Sparta, Larry (Anne) Kuderer of Hokah, MN, Scott (Jessica) Kuderer of Sparta, Mark (Kari) Kuderer of Sparta, Eric (Amanda) Kuderer of Superior, WI, and Chad (Danielle) Kuderer of Fort Leonardwood, MO, Stephanie (Nathaniel) Ray of Johnstown, PA, Katrina (Brad) Leis of Rockland, WI, Kristin (Wayne) Reininger of Little Rock, AR, Adam (Leah) Rhodaback of Wylie, Texas, Courtney (Albert) Martinez of Rowlett, Texas, Amanda (Daniel) Bennett of Fairview, Texas, Jessica (Jacob) Manogue of Kewaskum,WI, and Austin (Jennah) Kuderer of Kaukauna,WI; 23 Great-Grandchildren: Rebecca, Matthew, Alexander, Makara, Keean, Kade, Carson, Addelyn, Callen, and Alexis Kuderer, Ella, Elizabeth, and Elliott Bennett,  Adaliade and William Rhodaback, Madison Martinez, Watson and Penelope Manogue of Kewaskum, WI,  Scarlett and Ellie Leis of Rockland, WI, and Aiden, Ashton, and Emmett Ray of Johnstown, PA; 1 Great-Great-Grandchild: Alice Kuderer; 13 extended family Members: Troya Hohfeld, Mirika Stuhr, Jazmin Stuhr, Draden Olsen, Dane Olsen, Cashis Olson, Hayln Van Wormer, Lisa Kuderer, Cody Tillman, Kaylie Tillman, Victoria Woodard, Madison Fishbaugher, Archer Woodard, two sister-in-laws; Maxine Kuderer of Brookfield, WI, and Ellen Kuderer of Fairmont, MN.

   A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 24, 2022 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, in Sparta with Father Eric Berns officiating. Organist was Charlie Burnett and vocalist was Mark Hellmann. Burial was at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Sparta. Pallbearers were Charles Kuderer, Larry Kuderer, Scott Kuderer, Mark Kuderer, Eric Kuderer, Chad Kuderer, and Katrina Leis. There was a luncheon in the church basement following the burial.
