Margaret Claire (Peggy Boltik) Zarrella, formerly of Sparta, died on June 21, 2024 of a brief but aggressive form of cancer. She was just a week shy of her 72nd birthday.
Margaret, known as Peggy, graduated from Sparta High School in 1970 and went on to join the Navy. While in service, she met her husband of 52 years who was in the Army. They finally settled in Virginia to raise their sons, Tony and Joey and live the good life. Upon retirement, Peter and Peggy enjoyed taking road trips through the mountains in search of great views and food, service work and volunteering in the community as well as spoiling their grandkids.
Peggy was the sixth of nine children born to Loraine Lathrop Yeske and John Serge Boltik. Her surviving siblings are John (Jack) Boltik, Anthony (Tony) Boltik, Elizabeth (Betsy) King, Mary Orrico Green, Barbara Middleton and Thomas (Tom)Boltik. Her brother Patrick (Pat) and sister Veronica (Sue) had preceded her in death.
The family is holding a quiet celebration of life later in July to share tears, laughter and stories only loved ones can tell.
