SPARTA - Marc Robin Bangsberg, age 61, of Town of Little Falls, died Wednesday, October 5th 2022 at home of natural causes.
Marc enjoyed living as a farmer and logger on the family farm in the beautiful countryside of Wisconsin, following his hobbies of raising Red Poll cattle and a variety of chickens, dogs, cats, etc. He was active with the WI DNR as nuisance control and a longtime member of the Wisconsin Trapper’s Association, being named volunteer of the year in 2004. Marc spent many good days hunting, trapping, fishing, and going to auctions, tractor shows, and county fairs. He was an avid reader and a surprisingly well-educated guy, being only a few credits short of graduating from UW-River Falls.
His family particularly enjoyed his knowledge of current affairs, which he loved to discuss with a sharp witticism. Marc was a generous and caring person, always checking up on how folks were faring. His strong sense of humor was appreciated by many and his stories greatly entertained his friends and family. He kept the family connected through his regular phone calls.
An enduring remembrance of Marc is his basic belief that in life you help and care for others.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Wesley. His survivors include a brother Burt (Jane) of West Salem, and three sisters, Carol of Crown Point, IN, Helen (Stephen) of Minneapolis, and Laurie (Mark) of Sherrard, IL. In addition, he is survived by six beloved nieces and nephews. The many friends and neighbors Marc enjoyed visiting will surely miss his presence in the community.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Cataract United Methodist Church with Reverend Roberta Nowicki officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Cataract.
A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, Sparta, and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Memorials can be made to Wisconsin Trapper’s Association, Cataract United Methodist Church or the Sparta Free Library.
