Heaven gained a new angel on October 10, 2022. Lois M. Cook quietly passed away at the age of 97 in her home at Pine View Terrace in Black River Falls with her three children at her side.

Lois was born October 1, 1925 in Glendale Township to Fred and Lavergne Cuenot. Lois attended Glendale Grade School and graduated from Elroy High School in 1943. All three of her children attended the same grade school.

She was born and raised on her parent’s dairy farm where she later farmed with her husband.

On April 24, 1946 Lois married Floyd Cook of Clifton.    They raised three children, Donald, Joyce, and Judy. Lois became a 4-H general leader and taught first year cooking.  In 1962, Lois started working at Ray-O-Vac in Wonewoc, WI and retired after 30 years.  In the early 1970’s, Lois and Floyd moved from their farm to Tomah. They spent time at their cabin near Hayward fishing. While there, she was occasionally known to “howl at the moon!” Along with family and friends, they also took fishing trips to Canada.  After returning home with their limit, Lois made many batches of pickled northern. Throughout her 97 years, she was known to arrange family reunions for both sides of her family. Lois and Floyd wintered in Arizona for about 7-8 years sightseeing, dancing, and playing cards.

Lois was known for her famous cinnamon rolls which were requested by all of her family members (from children to great grandchildren). Friends at Pine View Terrace were recipients of her home-made custard.

Lois is survived by her three children, Don (Candace) Cook, Joyce (Kevin) Witt, and Judy (Dave) Sprain, 5 grandchildren, Jennifer, Stephanie, Matt, Korrin, Brandi; eight great-grandchildren, Emma, Anna, Jake, Max, Lily, Brodie, Sydney, Owen; one great-great grandchild, Archer, one sister-in-law, many nieces, nephews, and friends.
