SPARTA - Lester E. Williams, 86, of Sparta, WI, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Tomah Health in Tomah, WI.
Lester married Marcella Stanek on October 30, 1958, at Mt. Tabor. He worked at Northern Engraving for many years. Lester was also in charge of lawn maintenance at the Ambassador Baptist Church outside of Sparta, He took pride in making the churches grounds look nice. Lester had a respect for Case tractors and enjoyed collecting them. He was a loving family man who looked forward to gatherings with everyone around. He will be missed by many.
Lester is survived by children, Sidney (Joan) Williams of Sparta, Mava Johnson of Sparta, Larry Williams of Sparta, Thomas Williams of Sparta, and Heather Williams of Coles Valley. Grandchildren, Malita, Jesse, McKenzie, Katy, Genessa, and Krista. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Sarah Williams of Norwalk, Jimmie Williams of Tomah, Bonnie Marx of Tomah, Sharon Olson of Lonsdale, MN, and Virginia “Tweet” (Dean Hansen) Williams of Mauston; along with brothers and sisters in law; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lester was preceded in death by his wife Marcella in 2020; parents, a son Francis; two brothers, Kenneth and Sidney Allen Williams; sister, Verna (Marvin) Dopson; brothers-in-law, Robert Marx, and Duane Olson; along with many other family and friends.
Funeral Services will be at the Ambassador Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, 1:00 p.m. with a visitation at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place at a later date in the Home Cemetery near Ontario, WI.
