SPARTA - Leone J. Lakowske, 94, of Sparta, died Saturday, August 13, 2022, at the Morrow Memorial Home in Sparta. She was born on February 26, 1928, in Sparta, to Roy and Sarah (Livangood) Jotham.
Leone married Douglas Lakowske on December 6, 1947. She worked for the school for over 20 years and was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and canning in her spare time. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a resident of the Morrow Home for over 10 years.
Leone is survived by her children; Gary (Joan) Lakowske of Sparta, Larry (Sheryl) Lakowske of Sparta, Calvin (Deb) Lakowske of Black River Falls, Yvonne (David) Zibrowski of Sparta; grandchildren, Scott (Kelly) Lakowske of Sparta, Melissa (Jeff) Roningen of Sparta, T.J. Lakowske of Sparta, Mark Lakowske of Sparta, Ryan (Becky) Lakowske of Sparta, Bryan (Jessica) Lakowske of Black River Falls, Brad (Karen Salis) Lakowske of Eau Claire, Amy Zibrowski of Sparta, Sarah (Brennan) Looman of Stone Lake, Heather (Jimmy) Rinehart of Sparta; great grandchildren, Mitch (Chelsea), Chase (Erica), Taylor, Garett, Dexton, Zavien, Mavryn, Calvin, Brooke, Emory and Ava; brothers, William (Sharon) Jotham and Carson (Karen) Jotham both of Cataract; and sister-in-law, Barb Jotham of Cataract.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Douglas in 2009; brothers, Eugene and Fred Jotham; sisters, Alice Millard, Phyllis Brooks, and Whylis Brooks.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church, in Sparta, with Pastor Mike Ohman officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sparta, following the services.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, at the Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, Sparta, and from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Online condolences may be offered at www.schanhoferfh.com
